I am L. During my time on the Kira case, I met & fell in love with Light Yagami, the main suspect in my investigation. I discovered a "Death Note" in Light’s possession that altered his ability to function of his own free will. It controlled him, forcing him to commit the murders. Once I proved this to the Japanese Government, they told me they intended to execute him; needing a scapegoat & a tidy ending. I was told to transfer him to their custody & leave the country. That didn't happen. Light & I lived on the streets, gathering evidence against the government, giving me proof for other governments and world police agencies. We barely got out alive. Most of the world accepts our side of the story; some think I conjured a conspiracy theory to save my lover from execution. Light and I live at Wammy's House in England. Due to death threats, to his mother and sister (Light's father has since passed) I got them out as well. They live in another residence on the grounds of Wammy's.
